Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence in Montessori Education

Founded in 2004, Countryside Montessori Center has been a trusted partner for families in Lapeer, Michigan and the surrounding areas, providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 2.5 to 6. For two decades, we’ve proudly upheld the Montessori philosophy, fostering independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning in every child we serve.

Our story begins with Ms. Bonnie Skop, a dedicated educator with over 30 years of experience in early childhood education. Her passion for the Montessori method inspired her to create a center where children could thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through her vision, Countryside Montessori Center has become a cornerstone of quality education in the Lapeer community, recognized for its commitment to excellence and personalized care.

In 2019, Ms. Averi Skop, Bonnie’s daughter, joined the team as Assistant Director. Bringing a fresh perspective and the same dedication to children’s growth, Ms. Averi has been instrumental in continuing the legacy of her mother’s work. Together, this mother-daughter duo combines experience and innovation, creating a harmonious environment where children feel supported and inspired every day.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we remain committed to providing the highest standard of Montessori education.
